I like 1 - very moody - maybe concentrate a bit more on the structures as opposed to the mountains? But very encouraging to see these on here :) Onwards, Adam!
Hi Adam, Im Mike, a graduate of class 2014 and alumni of the course. I will be your mentor for this year. If you have any questions that you are unsure of or a little unsure how to do something, by all means, feel free to ask me. After 3 years of Phil & Alan stealing my sweets :D I am very able to help you with pretty much most things 3D, 2D, or how to work out how to plan and do things. So, If you need, Im here to help. I will of course be looking at your blog and giving you feed back to hopefully help work out and push your ideas to the best they can be for your final out comes.
I have read your brief and it sounds very interesting. The part that stuck out to me was the idea that every one of his cities was saying something about Venice. This would be a good place to do some research to look into what this could mean to you and your thumbnails. May be good to get some Influence maps going to show what you can find and what you may or want to use within your art. This could be its architecture or even its history, culture etc. Do not limit your self, get as much information as possible as it may be you look at 100 things about Venice, discard 99 of them but use that 1 you like. This will defiantly help you work things out.
Also, In the brief it says that this will be a response to the source material you was given on your briefing? What was you given at your brief? This may be good to put up on your blog so others can see more clearly what you are doing and thus will be able to help you a little more.
Okay, onto your thumbnails! :D
I very much like these, very moody. 1 for me stands out as it has a very different feel than the rest which makes it highly interesting. Saying that, I also like no 3 looking up at the light. Keep it up, you have a nice first set of 9 here, I look forward to seeing the next lot!
Here is my blog & final major project; http://mikesmallwood.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/little-things-animation-short.html
